The
purpose of Professional Defense Consultants is to help you to strengthen
the safety and security of your workplace by preparing practical,
individualized, common sense programs in the prevention and management
of interpersonal violence. We are prepared to provide consultation,
seminars and training that will:

programs for hospitals, schools and other facilities

improve
the physical security of your facility or worksites

instruct
staff and managers in the recognition of potentially dangerous
situations

provide a profile of characteristics and behaviors of potentially
dangerous persons

teach staff to defuse situations before they become violent

assist staff and managers in the development of an internal crisis
response team

the agency or business in the development of a model policy concerning
violence and threats in the agency or business

provide training in the management of physically assaultive behavior
To
meet these goals, Professional Defense Consultants has assembled a
team of experienced professionals from a variety of fields. Team members
involved in the classroom instruction are experienced instructors
from the fields of mental health and education who have presented
similar programs to local human service agencies and at state level
conferences. The self-defense and crisis response instructors have
a combined experience in excess of 100 years in various martial arts
and have achieved the rank of black belt or above in Cuong-Nhu and/or
Judo and Jujitsu.
Our
programs and techniques are based on common-sense principles practiced
over the years by professionals in human services, women's self-defense
and martial arts. Worker and client safety is our first and foremost
goal, and prevention and de-escalation are emphasized as the primary
tools in all of our programs. Each contractual training agreement
is tailor-made to meet the needs of the particular business, agency
or hospital setting no matter how large or small. A careful evaluation
of the training needs is the first step in this process. Review of
practical situations submitted by line staff is also requested and
included in the overall plan. Every attempt is made to provide training
and seminars in keeping with the prospective client's budgetary constraints.
